Documentation

• Update kubuntu-docs templates (Adi/David)

  • Remove obsolete templates - DONE for Karmic and Lucid (David)

  • Talk to nixternal and jjesse on how the templates are updated
  • Update templates in Launchpad
• Move the xubuntu-docs templates to an external project (Adi)
  • Export translations from Launchpad
  • Merge those translations in the xubuntu-docs bzr branch
  • Set up the xubuntu-docs project for automatic translation imports and exports
• Rename the kubuntu-docs and ubuntu-docs templates (ubuntu-/kubuntu- prefix) - this will be transparent to the maintainers

Browser start page

• Talk to the design team (Iain Farrell/ Matt T.) to find out more about the missing "Participate" link and how it can lead to localised resources (David)

• Communicate to the documentation team regarding help.ubuntu.com - the translations team would be willing to help (David)
• Keep track on the current bugs on the start page (Adi)

Testing

• Look for packages per language in the Live CD (Adi)
• Write the test cases in the testcase wiki (Ara)
• Announce to the translations community to see if anyone comes up with more useful test cases (David)
• Review testcases (David - to communicate to translations team)
• Get a list of packages that should be installed (Arne)
• Check language support on the DVD (Arne)

Reporting

• Danilo to add more information to the current raw data export:
  • number of strings that needs review or changed from upstream
  • date of last change done for a template for each language

Launchpad developer community contributions

• fix a bug / add a new feature (not something big) and then make a BIG announcement and encourage new developers. Let them know that this can be done ... and it is not that hard
  • UWN, Fridge, Full Circle Magazine, Ubuntu User - David to contact Amber on getting the word out
• Idea: develop a simple "hello world" app, even a screencast people can start on
• ACTION: Adi/Danilo to install lp.dev and then add last-updated column into +templates page
  • Do a write up of how it went, and what it involved.

Kubuntu

• QA'ing language packs:
  • Comparing imported language packs and exported language packs (Danilo, David)
  • This will reveal whether there are many translation teams differing from upstreams in terms of translated strings
• (Adi) Make a list of languages on the UTC wiki page with contact persons knowledgeable on the language, script, fonts.
• (David) Announce this, this should be useful in assessing which languages can be supported from the community
• (Adi) Document manual upload of templates (lp-translator-tools)

Firefox

• Firefox: David to communicate with the translations community to see if there is
  • interest in scripting the steps to submit to upstream
• Firefox: David to get feedback from the community about devmode and changes

OpenOffice.org

• Disable all pre-Lucid OpenOffice.org translation templates (Karmic, Jaunty,...) because they are not used (Ursinha)

• Export those translations and make them available to translators
• Communicate this to translators (David)
• Make sure we can build OOo translations by alpha-2 (ccheney and Danilo)

Roundtables

• Add the "Open translations" action after the alpha-3 milestone on the release schedule (David)
• Announce this to translators (David)
• Add an FAQ entry on the rationale for this decision (Adi)
• Add a warning about -proposed uploads to the SRU page (David)
• Talk to Arne about iso-codes translations and enabling them in language packs (David)
