I am applying because I am involved with preparing new upstream kernels for Ubuntu. This work includes compatibility updates for the various DKMS modules in Ubuntu, mostly in LTS releases. I would like to be able to sponsor these uploads in order to reduce delays in getting DKMS fixes / updates and to reduce the burden on other sponsors.
Who I am
I am currently working as a Kernel Engineer in the Ubuntu Kernel Team at Canonical. I am specialized in operating systems, embedded systems and cybersecurity. I have a master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Politecnico of Milan.
My Ubuntu story
Ubuntu user since Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty Fawn". Back then I bought the book "Hacking: The art of exploitation" and it was bundled with an Ubuntu 7.04 LiveCD. Since then Ubuntu has been my distro of choice.

Areas of work
My primary focus has been hardware enablement, backporting CVE fixes to LTS kernels, and fixing up packages impacted by kernel updates.
Things I could do better
My overall packaging experience is almost entirely with kernel (or kernel-adjacent) packages. I would like to extend my knowledge to a more diverse types of packages, for example user-space packages.

Mate Kukri (mkukri)
I have sponsored iptables-netflow 2.6-7.1ubuntu1 for Massimiliano, which addressed LP: #2116328. The bug report and accompanying delta he provided were well-prepared and reasonable, and after a quick review I was happy to upload the package.
While I am confident that he has the necessary skills to be successful with this DKMS PPU application, I would defer to others with more experience sponsoring his uploads for a full endorsement.
Nick Rosbrook (enr0n)
I have sponsored one package, sysdig, for Massimiliano. It was for LP: #2114822, an SRU for Jammy. The debdiff was well-prepared. The only feedback I had was to suggest using the Bug-Ubuntu DEP3 field in the future.

General feedback
I have uploaded multiple dkms fix-ups from Massimiliano. There have been some small changes & reupload, but nothing groundbreaking.
Specific Experiences of working together
Many. He was a huge help with the point release, and a pleasure to work with.
Areas of Improvement
Can't think of anything.
