Correct screen resolution not working out-of-box in Feisty Herd 5, maybe similar to bug # [https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/75424 75424]
Sound: Headphone & Mic jacks are not properly recognized by ALSA, speakers are not muted when headphones are plugged into the headphone jack. Installation: boot options 'noapic' and 'nolapic'
Infrared: only working with the laptop's remote control
Play/Pause key: only pause, does not play

6.10 Edgy

Installation: boot options 'noapic' and 'nolapic'
Sleep: the machine goes to sleep, the sleep light comes on, it wakes up on a key press, but the screen is just blank and the keyboard is not working (for example caps lock and num lock)

Using packages outside the Ubuntu repository, it's possible to both get wireless network and beryl working great in Edgy 6.10, but unfortunately not at the same time! This problem is, for example, discussed in thread [http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=334373 334373] in the Ubuntu forum and in bug # [https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.17/+bug/57355 57355].

Wireless networking

Following the how-to on [https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Device/Broadcom_BCM4311_rev_01_%28ndiswrapper%29?highlight=dv9074ea WifiDocs/Device/Broadcom BCM4311 rev 01 (ndiswrapper)] and installing ndiswrapper and network-manager, and adding WPA-support it's possible to network very smoothly in Edgy 6.10.

Beryl

Following the how-to [http://wiki.beryl-project.org/wiki/Install_Beryl_on_Ubuntu_Edgy_with_nVidia Install Beryl on Ubuntu Edgy with nVidia] made Beryl (N.B. still in development) worked fine on this labtop, until ndiswrapper was installed...
