 * <Whatever>ubuntu or <Whatever>concil is confusing for new users (Most asked question at LinuxTag). Whatever new groups

I would like to suggest to use ubuntu-<whatever>. This emphasis our common ground, like community

archive, lauchpad, ml etc. It also better scales. <X>ubuntu with a real meaning are limited. -- allee

Agenda

  • Discuss Bug #38573. I think this makes sense to remove this patch - rationale cases described in bug report.

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/kdebase/+bug/38573 - Hobbsee

  • Breezy was shipped with bogofilter installed by default, which made it easy for users to config kmail propperly. It isn't anymore (Anthony Mercatante)
  • Discuss/Expand AdeptScreenshots ([https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+spec/adept-screenshots feature request]) --Nirvana

  • Kubuntu doesn't have default antispam installed. That makes kmail more difficult to configure for newbies. Shouldn't we ship bogofilter again ?
  • [https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/kdebase/+bug/41040 Should be easier to select printout mode when printing ] I (and friends ) don't find selection of printout mode very user-friendly -- pef

  • Kubuntu Members JonathanRiddell can now add people to the kubuntu-members team, this is a sub team of ubuntumembers and gives people full membership rights and responsibilities, the "sustained and substantial contribution" test must always be met. How should be approve people as members? 1) Trust Jonathan completely to use his common sense 2) Form a Kubuntu Community Council of say 5 people who can approve members 3) Only approve members at meetings if everyone agrees 4) any other ideas - JonathanRiddell

  • Do we have any users of KPPP or KRFB (desktop sharing) around? I cant test these, as I dont run those kind of configurations. Do we know of any other users who can test these programs? - Hobbsee
  • Linux Tag meetings, whos going, any ideas? KubuntuLinuxTagMeetings - JonathanRiddell

  • Any objections to removing kuickshow? - JonathanRiddell

  • add your agenda points (and your nick) here

Agenda for Meeting+1

  • Brainstorm about a way to make it easier for new people to help out, a nice overview with small todo's, a special section in malone, or ??? (toma)
  • Flight-7 has been out for about 1 week, Any feedbacks about this release? (freeflying)
  • We shall have kubuntu council , and how can we get one? (freeflying)
    • current kubuntu-members == kcouncil ? ([:PatrickDavies:jpatrick])

  • <Whatever>ubuntu or <Whatever>concil is confusing for new users (Most asked question at LinuxTag). For new groups/concials/whaterver created in the future I would like to suggest to use ubuntu-kde-<whatever>. This emphasis our common ground, like community archive, lauchpad, ml etc. It also better scales. <X>ubuntu with a real meaning are limited. -- allee
