We are celebrating the release of Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) scheduled for April, 2010. Lucid is a Long Term Support (LTS) release. Physical and virtual (IRC & other) events are scheduled. Each release cycle a number of efforts happen around the release. Globally, UbuntuDeveloperWeek and UbuntuGlobalJam events happen a month or two before and focus on contributing to the release. Parties (listed below) and UbuntuOpenWeek happen near or after the release. Here's a video describing how to do a release party. "... can be organized in literally 10 minutes."

Lucid Release Parties

We have planned Lucid release parties at IRC meetings on April 4th and April 18th and on the mailing list.

These events are listed chronologically. Details are currently based off Karmic release parties and LUG schedules and haven't been confirmed yet. World wide events will have their own list.

General Info

• Lucid Lynx 10.04 will start after the release of Karmic Koala 9.10. DO NOT install Lucid on production machines. See UbuntuDevelopment/UsingDevelopmentReleases. The final stable version is scheduled to be released in April, 2010.

• For general Ubuntu information please see www.ubuntu.com or ask in one of Ubuntu's community support areas.

• The Ubuntu Developer Summit for Lucid Lynx 10.04 will be held Monday, 16 Nov - Friday 20 Nov 2009, in Dallas, TX. A Technical Overview and Blueprints will be used as guides for producing this release.

• Several LoCo members are currently running Lucid for testing purposes. Your participation is encouraged but not required.
